Connection issues and VPNs

Olatti shows as offline, calls won't connect, or things break on the office network.

Olatti needs a steady internet connection and a network that lets voice traffic through. If a device shows as Offline, or calls fail to connect, work through this.

Check the device is online

Under Settings > Profile > Devices, each device shows Online, Idle or Offline. Offline means Olatti on that device isn't connected. Reload the web app, restart the desktop or mobile app, or restart the desk phone.

Wi-Fi and mobile data

  • Calls over mobile data work, but a weak signal sounds worse than a weak Wi-Fi. Prefer Wi-Fi where you have it.

  • Public Wi-Fi in hotels and cafés often blocks voice traffic. If calls won't connect on it, switch to mobile data.

VPNs

A VPN routes your traffic through another location, which adds delay and can block the ports voice uses. If calls are poor or won't connect while a VPN is on, turn it off for Olatti or ask your IT contact to allow voice traffic through it.

Office firewalls

If Olatti works from home but not in the office, the office firewall is filtering something. Ask whoever manages the network to allow Olatti's traffic, and email support@olatti.com for the technical details they'll need.

Desk phones

A desk phone that won't come online after setup is usually one of: wrong MAC address entered, no DHCP on the network, or the phone still registered to a previous provider. See Removing a Yealink phone from a third-party provisioning server.
