You can place a call from the calls bar at the top of Olatti in three keystrokes, or click your way there from Contacts or History.

Before you start

Check your microphone and speaker once. Go to Settings > Audio and video, pick your devices, click Test next to the speaker, and click Save. Your browser will ask for microphone permission the first time; allow it.

From the keyboard

The calls bar at the top of Olatti, with the ⌘K hint, the video button and the green call button
  1. Press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows. The calls bar at the top of the screen, "Who would you like to call?", takes focus.

  2. Type a name or a number. Matching contacts appear as you type.

  3. Press Enter to call the first match, or click the one you want.

To message instead of call, press Shift+Enter.

With the mouse

  • Click the calls bar, click a contact in the list, then click the green call button.

  • In Contacts, hover a row and click the phone icon.

  • In History, click the green call icon on any row to call that person back.

During the call

The call window shows who you're talking to and how long you've been on. If you need to move, you can switch the live call to your mobile or desk phone without the other person noticing. Calls are recorded automatically when recording is turned on for your account.

After the call

The call appears at the top of History within a few seconds. Click it to play the recording, read the transcript and summary, or add a tag so you can find it later.

Good to know

  • Calling from another device. If you have a desk phone as well, choose which device places calls you start from the web under Settings > Calls > Default device.

  • Caller ID. Calls show your direct number if you have one, otherwise the company's default number. Your admin sets which numbers you can use.

  • Emergency calls. Calls over the internet need power and a connection. For 999 and 112, keep another way to call. See Emergency calls on Olatti.
